In Loving Memory of

Roger Ray (Abe)     1996 2009

                   A Poem for Abe

My eyes are welled with tears my sweet boy
You have brought me so many years of joy
To my heart you have birthed so much cheer
You have kept me happy year after year

I never wanted to see this day
When my tears shed for how you lay
You were always there by my side
My rules you did abide

You've been there day and night
I can't save you try as I might.
The Rainbow Bridge is in your sight
I can see you running into the light

I am not ready to let you go
This you must truly know
Please don't leave me now I beckon
The years we've had feel like only a second

I won't hold you back when it's time to go
The memories I have will be held very dear
I know your time is nearly here.
I will miss you my sweet boy
You have given my soul such sweet joy.

By Beth Zimmer

Abe held a tear in his eye and we knew it was time to say goodbye.  He will be forever missed as cancer took him over.  The one memory we will forever hold is when (with few teeth left in his mouth) he so proudly came to the back door with a squirrel in his mouth.  Abe seemed to be smiling so bright like we would be so proud of his accomplishment.

Abe will be sweetly and anxiously met by his greyhound friends who went to the Rainbow Bridge before him: Nokota Chief (2002), Whitey Can Jump (2003) and Nala (2005).

Our hearts belong to you, Abe.  You were a happy, lazy Laplander and home protector.  We will always look skyward and see you running (as you did in your naps). One day we will see you running to meet us on the Rainbow Bridge.

We so love you buddy.

Beth and Dennis Zimmer
