In Loving Memory of Pat C Judge (Mr. Judge)     6/16/96 – 1/18/08

Dear Recycled Racers, We wanted to let you know about Judge.  We had to have him put down due to the cancer that had taken over his body. Judge's racing name was Pat C. Judge.  We just called him Mr. Judge, because he was such a gentleman.  He was born on June 16th, 1996 and he died January 18th, 2008. We thought that we were going to find the perfect Greyhound, but he found us.  He chose us.  My husband, Paul, wanted a cute, sweet, petite, female Greyhound and I just wanted a good dog.  We went to the Recycled Racers adoption kennel 2 weekends in a row and Mr. Judge was right there, wagging his tail, saying take me home.  That was in October of 1999 and from the first day he came into our home, our lives were changed forever.  He was very shy and timid and it took a long time for him to warm up to us, but when he finally did, he was a very, sweet boy. In our back yard, we have 2 decorative water ponds with waterfalls.  We were told that Greyhounds didn't really like to swim.  One day, Judge's neighborhood friend, O'Neil (the Golden Retriever) showed him how to swim and from that day on, Judge loved the water!  In fact, we couldn't keep him out of it. Judge never got into any trouble or mischief, EXCEPT for finding and eating chocolate.  If there was chocolate in the house, Judge would find it.  This hound had a sweet tooth.  We found out one Christmas when someone had sent us Hershey's Kisses.  We never gave Judge any chocolate, but he sure could sniff it out if there was any around.  He even went bananas over our daughter's chocolate lip gloss! Judge was a relaxed old guy, and didn't do too much except move from bed to bed, couch to couch, or rug to rug.  we will miss him deeply and there is an emptiness in our home without him.  He brought so much joy to our family.  We will never forget him.
