In Loving Memory of

Oshkosh Thorne (Thorne)     11/22/94 - 2/9/05

Our sweet sensitive Thorne left us for the Rainbow Bridge on 2/9/05.  He survived 26 months cancer free following his left hind leg amputation and chemotherapy for bone cancer.  After posting "Thornes Story" on the Recycled Racers web site in 2002, Joe and I received e-mails from all over the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.  We hope that Thorne gave inspiration and hope to other Greyhound owners whose dogs suffered from the same illness.

Thorne was an ambassador for Greyhound adoptions.  He and his long time Greyhound companion, Cody (who passed away on 11/18/03) helped promote Greyhound adoptions at Recycled Racers Meet-n-Greets and also helped Joe and I foster and baby-sit many other Greyhounds.

Thorne was the living embodiment of unconditional love, trust and courage.  Everyone who met Thorne seemed to love him, including our female Greyhound, Wendi.  He will always be lovingly remembered and never replaced.  We hope he is enjoying his place at the Rainbow Bridge and that he once again has four sturdy and powerful legs.  We imagine Thorne and Cody running and playing together once again.
