In Loving Memory of

Oshkosh (Snoopy)     03/03/93 - 07/20/05

Snoopy was the first Greyhound that we ever adopted.  Like most adopters, we got a second within 8 months, Lacey.  Snoopy was affectionately called "the king", both for his regal look and personality.  He loved his daily walk and, in his thinking, he took the Postman's Motto to heart; neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail, would stop us from taking him on the walks that he dearly loved.  We took Snoopy and Lacey to too many Recycled Racers "meet 'n greets" to count.  These were at Petco, Petsmart, local community gatherings (through Recycled Racers), and numerous times to Wembley Park.  One thing was consistent when the public met him, he stole the show.  Snoopy was the most gentle dog we ever saw, and simply loved people.  Second to his walks, he loved to get his "rubs".  Whether it was his ears, chest, side or butt he would immediately go into the "Greyhound lean".

After 12 1/2 years, degenerative discs in his back took Snoopy from us.  Even though it broke our hearts, the decision was an easy one.  He was in pain for the last week and lost 7 pounds, since he would not eat.  We would not put him through further constant discomfort, for our own selfishness of not wanting to let him go.  We pray that Snoopy is taking his daily walks and getting his rubdowns, at the Rainbow Bridge.  He took a piece of our hearts with him, and we will never lose him in our memory.
