In Loving Memory of KD's All Alone (Melba)     May 1992 - February 2004

Melba had just turned five, only a few weeks retired from racing, when we brought her home.  She was a petite Red Fawn Greyhound with an outrageous double cowlick down her very long, elegant neck.  She was an amazingly graceful lady with a mighty chest to house the heart that carried her through her racing career and into our home and hearts. Melba was our first Greyhound, but not our last; she inspired the adoption of at least six other retired racers by family and friends.  She trusted us completely, and at the end, went to sleep with dignity, forever.
