In Loving Memory of

Lenny Bear (Remington)     3/25/93 - 7/12/03

Our big, lovable, Greyhound Remington, who we adopted several years ago, died last Saturday.  He went to sleep in his dog house on Friday and never woke up.  I can't believe the tears we have shed and the lost feeling my wife and I have been experiencing.  It is so hard to see the empty kennel, the dish that will stay empty, and his collar hanging on the wall.

Remington was our gentle giant.  He was always about 75 lbs and stood as high as my hip.  When we adopted him from Recycled Racers, his kennel name was Hank and his racing name was Lenny Bear.  We felt those names were just a little too ordinary for such a majestic racer and champion so we renamed him Remington.  His ashes will be taken to our 2nd home in the San Luis Valley, where he loved to run on our acreage.

Our Red Heeler/Aussie Shepherd mix who is only 3 years old is lost without her "big brother".  They became great buddies and had not been apart before so she is having a hard time recovering from his loss.

Remington was a part of our family for 7 of his 10 years, but that does not seem like nearly long enough.
